Dr Yassin Osman

Lecturer in Civil Engineering

Yassin Osman teaches Project Management, Construction Management, and Urban Drainage Systems courses. He has over 29 years of academic and industrial experiences in areas of project management, water resources management, hydrological modelling, climate change and environmental engineering, which also involved working in Sudan, Ireland, and the UK. He spent 10 years of his career in the UK Water Industry in which he worked as consultant for the Environment Agency and different UK Water Companies on projects related to flood and pollution risk modelling. Concurrent with working in the industry while continued collaborating with academia through participating in supervision of knowledge transfer partnerships research.

I have threefold of academic interests: (1) to contribute to advancement of environmental modelling through research, (2) to enhance how engineering project be managed and maintained, and (3) to find the best possible way engineering can be taught to students.
